Why make an announcement at all.  Just let people guess and give awards to the first ones to find it.

Someone on another forum is claiming that Nationals.TV will take the place of MASN2 on Fios channel 579, and on DirecTV channel 641 starting tomorrow.

Well I have MLB Tv and am out of town but this has worked well for other things I’ve watched to watch.

Hopefully ok to post this here.

This morning on Fios a "Next Game Telecast" card is showing up on channel 579, formerly home to MASN2. We're getting there.

big question is if it games will be available on the FiOS mobile app or if you can watch on nationals.tv if you have a FiOS subscription (or Comcast, etc.)

I'm not sure if games will be available on the Fios TV mobile app outside the home as that's been a mixed bag for me when I've tried it — IIRC, it worked for games on Monumental but not MASN — but according to the FAQ, you should be able to authenticate through the MLB app to stream games on Nationals.tv in market:

Can I authenticate access to Nationals games through the MLB app by using the credentials from my pay-TV provider?
Yes, authenticated pay-TV providers will be able to authenticate to Nationals.TV through MLB.TV by Opening Day.

FiOS guide for 569 now shows "Nationals Baseball Sign-off", message on the TV is that FiOS is working but that the provider isn't yet sharing info. I am also getting a message to contact Verizon to add this to my plan. I have MASN access now, but not Monumental. I hope they don't bump nationals.tv up to a higher plan.

While I'm anxiously awaiting a DirecTV channel guide update, which should be overnight tonight, what is the latest on MLB.tv subscribers?  I just got my free year from T-Mobile, and I know the story a few months ago that there would be no live blackout for people in the local area.  Note - I record games on my DVR so I can avoid commercials, so having to wait a few hours to watch on MLB isn't a death knell for me watching the Nats.

It really never used to be this hard to watch a baseball game.

Verizon Fios 579 is now showing as Nationals TV.  No programming at this point.  Looks promising for tomorrow.  Unfortunately, the Nats don't look promising.
Should we take bets as to what game they will score their first run of the season.

Welcome Larry! I think the consensus is that we'll score at least one run in March. :)

That's what mine said/says but it gave me a message saying I needed to reboot set-top box.  It told me they were aware that I was previously subscribed to the channel, but there's no programming yet.  I suspect channel 579 will be a widget to MLB broadcast somehow.

I wonder if it makes it to youtubetv. We had monumental until Ted decided to chase lower ratings last year

Via DirecTV:

DIRECTV today announced a new agreement that delivers nine new channels for MLB teams.

Fans of the @CincinnatiReds, @tigers, @Royals, @Marlins, @Brewers, @Mariners, @Cardinals, @RaysBaseball, and @Nationals now have uninterrupted access to their local games in each club’s home territory.

They also allow customers to buy mlb.tv for out of market game access.

So it will be channel 641 on DirecTV, both satellite and streaming.
