One of the best Motorhead shows I saw was the night of a big blizzard at The Bayou here in DC in '96 or so...my friend got thrown out for a kissing a soldier's girlfriend and one of the roadies watching the bus outside gave him a Strongbow.  We staggered home in knee deep snow singing "Ace of Spades" up the middle of Wisconsin Avenue.  Fun night  :P

Met Chuck Norris on an elevator at a Dallas hotel.  We both rode down to the gym, where he was giving a private self-defense lesson to a well heeled customer.  I did some sort of ineffectual workout, but got to watch him do his lesson while I was there.  He was personable, seemed a decent guy.

fabulous base runner in his prime.

Heard Charley and Dave talking about him on the radio. They mentioned that in the year Nick Johnson stole 10 bases, Johnson said he just took a lead and ran when Lopes said "go".

Note sure this necessarily fits in this thread, but Virginia's former lieutenant governor, Justin Fairfax, shot his wife this morning and then went upstairs and shot himself. Both dead. All three of their kids were in the house and their son placed the 911 call. I can't even begin to fathom what that must be like for kids of that age (their oldest is in high school). They lived on Guinevere Drive in Annandale one block from Camelot Elementary. I wonder what the scene is like there today for kids going to school and encountering the police response. There's only one road on or off that school's property and it goes right past the house.
