Gary Burgoff and John Schuck are still around.

Both minor characters. I'm thinking of Blake, Pierce, Trapper John, Burns, and Houlihan as the stars.  Tom Skerrit is still around as well.

Fair enough. But Schuck had the best role.

It hasn’t been a good past year to be a Hollywood Icon named Robert. Redford, Reiner and now Duvall…

I was kind of surprised to learn he was only 84. I would have assumed he was in his 90s.

He started so young. King brought him in after college in 1965, so mid-80s is about right.

There's a New England traditional July 4 dinner of salmon, peas, and potatoes. When Dukakis tried to patch things up with Jackson in 1988, he invited Jesse to dinner and to watch the Pops together (Kitty's father Harry Ellis Dickson was John Williams #2). Dukakis served the salmon meal but no one on his staff had thought to check with Jackson whether he liked strong fish. Of course, he wouldn't touch the stuff and ended up getting take out. This caused a few weeks of continued problems between the 2 camps. Probably a good indication of how bad the Dukakis campaign would turn out to be after the primaries.

Jackson took the term "Rainbow Coalition" from Mel King's runner up campaign for Mayor of Boston in 1983. Jackson ran with it in 1984.

The Black Panthers always claimed that they first used the term, back in the late '60's, to describe a coalition of activist groups in Chicago.
