Tom Wilson is apparently skating on a line  McDavid and Celebrini at practice.

I hope they bring home that silver medal.

Is it girls caring or professional clubs willing to take a loss on women’s hockey? Here it’s parents willing to pay thousands to travel teams subsidizing it.
They have an infrastructure in Europe for hockey.  Just need to add the girls if they are interested.  I have no idea if they have travel hockey there for kids or how they might fund it.  But the fact is that they produce world class hockey players in many countries.

The infrastructure serves to feed the parent club. What does having girls’ leagues do to help the parent club? Do you think the nats should have short season women’s baseball if there is interest?

Lindsey Vonn had to be airlifted after crashing at an event in Switzerland according to Yahoo Sports. No word on severity of injuries.
Leg fractures. Surgery.

Vonn broke her leg and already underwent surgery so possibly a compound fracture. Report is that she grabbed the gate with arm and it caused her to lose her balance.
Cmon. Keep up Slateman.

In more important stuff Breezy Johnson and Mikaela Schiffrin will race in the team event tomorrow. They won the world title in that event last year.

Beat the Italians 9-8 at the very end and now on to face Sweden for the gold medal

The official IOC website still contains the gem - 'in women's ice hockey Switzerland have to be regarded as Gold Medal contenders...' Yeah, right... :hysterical:

The IOC's insistence in using "ice hockey" is a little pointless. They define the Winter Olympics as being for sports played on ice and snow (hence why basketball, which is usually a winter sport, is in the Summer Olympics). So that means the other version of hockey that in North America is a girls' sport will never be part of the Winter Olympics, such that the clarificatory word isn't needed.
