Most of those medals are probably already being melted down in some Milan dental office and the ribbons lining pigeon nests around Piazza del Duomo

Copped a bunch of shirts and merchandise. These things are selling fast. Really proud of the entire team, including the Hughes brothers and Hellebuyck. He deserved that medal of freedom. Also really disappointed how the media has been trying to politicize this when the focus should be on them winning for the first time in 47 years. Also this is really funny.

It  is funny.  That guy is good.

As for the MedaL of Freedom, I'm not so sure. It was one great game. Stolz won 2 golds and a silver. Frankel had a better tournament than Hellebuyck. I get giving the Medal to sports figures, but even DJT usually has given it for careers (like Mo Rivera). To me, it was a team win so I'm not sure 1 guy 1 game should be awarded. But yes, the team accomplished something big and CH made it possible.

I don't want to make it political but let's be real the medal of freedom is worth about tree fiddy.  Both sides been handing it out like candy for decades now.

I would have also given one to Alysa Liu too.

I'd have given one to Snoop but I have a hunch that wouldn't be on the table at the moment.

Well, he won far more than just one game, including more than one in overtime, and that was a game that's hard to imagine them winning without him in net.  Still seems hard to digest that they pulled it off...

World stage...46 year drought...the stars were aligned.  I think bestowing him with the title of "Secretary of Defense" was an even greater gesture...  ;)

Stolz had the best American performance in speed skating since Heiden. Frankel had a lower goals against. 24 years between Hughes and Liu.

Hockey is the most important team sport in the winter Olympics to Americans, so I get CH came up big in the most visible moment. I don't think he was less deserving than other athletes who've gotten it.
