Nice to get a couple wins heading into the off day. I hope that EricP331 enjoyed that series, wherever he is.

He is out there, I get some social media thing every now and then.  I vaguely recall he had some issue with Zimmm back in the day.

I watched a game with him one time, weekday afternoon at RFK, went to extra innings. Kind of a little guy. Didn't like pink hats.

Back to having the most runs scored in MLB. We'll have 50 wins and 500 runs scored by the All Star Break.

Noted in the GDT that we are  on the same pace as 2019 through 89 games. Actually ahead of 2018 and 2011.

Mikolas hung on and got the win tonight. Big W for him in his last appearance before the break.

I think he pitches Saturday unless he's suspended.

Maybe so, I assumed that he'll be out since Cavalli's case is settled. Another chance for a W.

Oh the guy with the 17.18 ERA? And isn’t he a reliever?

Nattitude, baby!!

TBF, that's a whopping 3.2 inning sample size in the majors. In 29 innings in Triple A, he has a 3.72 ERA with a 13.03 K/9 and no homers given up. He gets a lot of swing and miss, he just doesn't throw very hard.

Another crafty lefty.  Would rather see us picking up flamethrowers

Need one win against the Yanks to stay above .500 over the break. Sure would be nice to take that series and end the first half with at least 50.

Nothing but the eye test to back up this statement, but our baserunning seems to be WAY better than it was during the dimwit dave days...

Stolen base % up from 73 to 80. Less nagging about idiot base running on WNFF.

Totally true.  Smarter stealing, more informed decision making, better coaching.

as crappy as this last week has been, can we not lose sight of the fact that we have arguably the best young player in the league?

MLB Network's Greg Amsinger says Wood is the guy he'd build a team around if given the choice of any young rising star (or even Juan Soto):

Even if I buy into this premise, I don't think there's anyone left who hasn't heard this cope a thousand times by now.  The definition of insanity and all that...

Don't get me wrong, I'd love to "believe" but c'mon.

No Nationals reliever will pitch for the next four days!
