The two best offenses in MLB belong to the L.A. Dodgers and the Washington Nationals. No Nats team has ever scored this many runs (89) over its first 15 games. Today, 3 players had an RBI off the bench. Survived 4 HRs. Swept Milwaukee.

Schultz and Ribalta went 3.2 innings giving up just 1 run on 2 hits.

Nats scored 5. Young went deep along with CJ. CJ got time off his feet and Nas got to play SS

According to ESPN, the Nats have had the toughest schedule in MLB so far in 2026.

A chance to get to .500 tonight, 12% into the season. I don't believe that the Nats offense has hit the point of diminishing returns based on all of the upgrades resulting from Toboni's staff. I don't believe that the pitching will quite match the improvement of the offense, but I do believe that Toboni's staff will get them to improve from what we've seen. Going back to the Nats Chat podcast interview with Toboni from January(?), he said that he did not expect to increase spending this year, unless forced to do so by the team. So far the offense has certainly been doing it's part. During the first rebuild, while they were tanking for Strasburg, Harper, and Rendon, the Lerner's, via Kasten, claimed that they would start spending once the prospects started reaching the majors. "Cheap bastards" was the term that was widely used at the time. But they eventually did just what they said they were going to do.

Almost .500 with the toughest schedule in MLB, the team needs to keep it up as the schedule gets a little easier. Get to July 1st still near .500 and spitting distance from the 3rd Wild Card, and then the pressure mounts. Trade some outfield depth for some relief pitching, trade a shortstop prospect for a starting pitcher, take on salary from a team falling out of contention. The future can be now.

With the Padres going for $3.9 billion, Lerners have a strong comp to think more about a sale.

Aren't the Os a better comp? SD draws a lot better than the Nats. Which is a more similar market?

Padres are the only professional team in San Diego and a huge draw. Meanwhile, Lerner is doing his best to kill off the nationals fanbase

More recent sale.  It's going to adjust values for all teams.

Maybe they should play all their games on the road.

Most runs scored and most runs given up in all of baseball.   Which of these threads does that belong in?    Oddly enough, the Astros are 3rd in runs scored and 2nd in runs given up.

People were predicting 90-100+ losses for this team and that does not appear to be where they are trending. Tough losses happen, I'm disappointed in the fans not the team.

yes. I thought he was pitching for his job (posted in the gdt) because they were going to need a transaction to bolster the bullpen before Mikolas's start. He pitched well, so Schultz is the odd man out.

Loveland and Perez are the no option guys so I think they get a longer leash than the rotating cast.

I mean hard to be mad at the fans for the Nats hitting the reset button again on an already existing reset. Fans are probably a little wary of getting too attached to Abrams and wood before they’re traded to the Phillies or Dodgers

I was referring to fans being overly upset about the two tough losses this weekend, not the reset of the reset that happened last July.

Yes, that is true. Some of the losses have been tough but this a fun team to watch. Beats being a Mets fan right now…

Even in the tough series, the Nats have been scoring runs. Runs are fun. I think the Nats have scored 5 or more runs in 16 out of 22 games. Yesterday was the first we won when we didn't score 6.

Also, not mentioned yesterday is that was the 1st time the Nats shut out an opponent

Most runs scored in MLB with the most difficult strength of schedule to date in MLB.

I'm now reasonably confident that this Wood kid is gonna stick around and be a valuable Major League player.
