Matt Strahm traded to Royals.
Clearing salary to sign JTR.  They still have Alvarado and Banks as lefties. And Keller and Duran to close things out. Wish him well.  Good dude.

Tick tock. Munetaka Murikami has 2 days left to sign. Pretty much radio silence as far as credible rumors about where he will go. Will it be back to Japan?

2 years, $17 million AAV.

Young enough to "prove it" then cash in on a bigger score (or not if he Yoshidas).

Market really cratered for kid. Hope he proves the doubters wrong on hitting velocity/high spin rate

I wonder if Okamoto can beat that. Murakami was the one thought to be getting a better contract, but Okamoto I think is supposed to be able to hit hard stuff. At 29,  a 3 or 4 year contract would be reasonable.

There had been rumblings of him going to the Mets. Maybe they go for Lowe now. :)

Isn't Hunter Dobbins the guy whose dad told him a fake story about the Yankees cutting him and now holds a grudge against them ever since?

yes

He's also probably a reliever long-term.  I saw him in the Spring Breakout game this year and he was filthy coming out; when got hit when he was starting to mix in stuff besides pumping 92-mph sliders at the front knees of lefties.

I'm guessing 1000 people have beat me to this observation, but  the Padres new infielder needs to use "Song Sung Blue" as his walk-up music.

Apparently the big get for St L is the 19 year old A level prospect arm, Fajardo. Dobbins is sort of the high floor low ceiling guy who can immediately help;

Mets send Jeff McNeil to Oakland...eh...Sacramento.

Mets are going to look very different next year.
