Schwarber will get more than that.   Here are some projections. If the Pirates only offered $100 million it’s not serious and just designed to try and fool their fans.

Nah, that's the kind of contract that smart cheap teams avoid.

Lol, the Pirates just offered it so its clearly not.

Schwarber ain't hitting 50+ again. You'll be lucking to get 45 out of him the first season of that deal, and even luckier if he can hit over 30 by the end of it. That one tool never ages well.

The Nats have plenty of money...they can afford this...

But they ain't spending. Certainly not on a declining asset. That's not what you hired Mr. MBA for.

Because there are so many free agents on the ascent that they plan on spending on? It must be great for front offices that smart an cheap are now indistinguishable

The Nats have no ans to spend big on any free agent.

The goal with the Toboni hire was to make the Nats the Brewers/Guardians/Rays

KTLA sports anchor David Pingalore says the Dodgers are working on a deal for Skubal, because of course.

I am curious what the price is for 1 year of Skubal. I assume it's going to be mlb roster guys to outbid some of the prospect heavy systems.

But the lack of a hard salary cap is not a problem!

But the lack of a hard salary cap is not a problem!

There are 28 other teams that can bid for his services. Blaming the one team that’s hell bent on winning doesn’t solve the problem of complacency in ownership.

one of the reporters covering the meetings said Preller is looking to make a splash along the lines of his trade of Soto to the Yankees.

Skubal is going to make 22 million this year. Every team in baseball can afford that. So its just a matter of who is willing to give up the prospects

69 > 6-7
somehow the 6-7 meme hasn't gone away yet.
