Whit Merrifield tweeted about this, according to his experience, IKF had the right lead off the bag in the 9th. IMO they should be blaming Varsho who straight up choked when it mattered the most. He had the WS in his hands and blew it. All he needed to do was to hit a fly ball and it was a done deal.

Also, Hoffman is not a real closer. Gave up a game-tying HR to Miguel motherfreakin' Rojas, of all people lol.
Seranthony and Hoffman blowing it no surprise to Phillies fans.

If you fault Varsho then you have to fault Kirk also.  Just needed a fly ball to tie it.  Did the one thing he could not do.  And he’s a much better hitter.  Don’t forget Varsho saved runs earlier with his defense.

True but Kirk wouldn't have been in that situation if it wasn't for Varsho's major F up.... I still fault Kirk but not as bad as Hoffman/Varsho....

Great line, in commentary, after the Rojas homer - 'this place has turned into a library...'    :D

Game 7 was the highest rated WS game since Game 7 2017 (26M average viewers, 31.5M peak viewers). Overall WS viewership was highest since 2001. 10% increase over the last Game 7 in 2019.
