So um, is yesavage the front runner for WS MVP?
That would be something.   Has anyone ever won a WS MVP the year before ROTY?

This might be the most amazing stat of the night: Yesavage struck out all 9 Dodger batters. Only two other pitchers have done that: Randy Johnson in 2001 and Bob Gibson in 1968.

As for MVP if Toronto wins the series, Yesavage had a great game 5, but he didn't have much of a game 1. Vladito has had multiple moments, including last night.

Yeah Vladdy will probably win WS MVP (if the Jays can close it out this weekend in Toronto)

Doyers win tonight, and it's Max on the mound starting another game seven. Not sure anyone had that on their bingo card a month ago.

I missed the story. Something out of Bull Durham in real life?

Gausman looked untouchable

He was playing with his new (and later steroid using) teammate buddy Jose Canseco. Noticed he at a golden thong hanging in front of his locker every game. Alex was 0 for 32 and asked him why  it was there. Jose said wearing it was a guaranteed way break a slump so  Alex wore it between his underwear and uniform and hit a homer in his first at bat. He said he never ran a homer out so fast afraid people would see it through his uniform. Cracked up the booth and he seemed human to me telling that on international tv.

it's like he does not have pain when he connects, just when he swings and misses

By the way, if you think like I do, then the answer is no, he's not related to Isoroku. The latter was adopted and born Isoroku Takano. So Lightning didn't strike again

i admire his toughness though.  MLB used to consider the Asian league players inferior, played a lesser game  and could never make the big leagues but Ichiro and others started something. Otani  was the highest paid and  Yamamoto is the highest paid pitcher the league. Most Every team even the Nats  are scouting the area now. They can't afford the cream of the crop like LA.

Nice job getting out of the 6th. 96 pitches. I think you let him start the 7th given the LAD bullpen
