I put a dollar on them to tie today.  Who knew they could actually win.

Tottenham in some trouble,

Edit. I see the earlier game was a tie. And Tottenham loses.  They still need a point to avoid relegation

Spurs vs Everton and West Ham vs Leeds.  Feels a bit like the year Carlos Tevez carried West Ham on his back in one of their 'great escapes'.  Your move, Tomas Soucek

is it Spurs's stadium where they play baseball? That would be really tough to fit in an intimate soccer stadium.

No - MLB London games are at London Stadium (for once, the running track is an advantage in terms of extra space). Still too narrow for a genuine ballpark, which is why you get some 'unusual' (ahem..) game scores. Spurs stadium is where most NFL London Games are played - it was built with full NFL accreditation in mind.

I worked as an "outdoor clerk"

Is that a polite way of saying that they wouldn't let you in the office?... :D  ;)

If you're looking for soccer drama, this weekend, then keep an eye on Italy's Serie A - Lecce and Cremonese each facing relegation, dependent upon their relative results.

Bottom of the table seems to generally be more interesting than the top in most leagues/years.  I had a vested interest in the EPL this year but usually it's "yawn, those freakers again?!"

Especially in Ligue 1. Bundesliga, La Liga, SPL.  At least EPL had 2016.

While we're on it, here's Jah Wobble taken last year in Southampton (and wearing a Spurs shirt)

The real shame of it is that they failed to win any of those games  :hysterical:

wait. No Patriots jokes?

I was waiting for one yesterday when someone suggested it would be great if Irvin didn't need anything more than a massage...

The more Nats-oriented comment would have been Dmitiri's masseuse finding the right spot

The PL games will start at 11am. Biggest tension: Spurs at home against Everton and West Ham at home against Leeds. Spurs are two points ahead of West Ham, and hold a large advantage in goal differential. If Spurs win or draw, they survive relegation.

Peacock will carry Spurs-Everton. It will probably have look-ins to West Ham-Leeds.

Of course, it will be astounding if Spurs are relegated. They are the sixth-richest Soccer-football team in the world. They play in a billion-pound stadium that seats 60,000. It holds NFL London games, and would be perfect for a new Commanders-Redskins stadium. But to hold Championship games against teams like Hull, Millwall, and Wrexham??

Spurs on NBC,  West Ham on USA network. Both are up  1-0 at about 65 minutes.

Well, evidently the Redskins' game in London this fall won’t be in a minor-league stadium after all.

Spurs win, 1-0. West Ham wins 3-0, but are relegated anyway. Spurs finish with 41 point, and West Ham with 39.

When the Commanders-Redskins play in London, take a look at the stadium. Perfect size for an NFL team.

I think I heard that 39 points has avoided relegation for something like 15 years.

Seems right. The Peacock announcers, Jon Champion and Graeme Le Saux asked themselves how often a 39 point team had been relegated. I think the answer was "not often". However, an article just now in The Athletic says that Nunu Espiritu Santos blundered in many ways after he was appointed early in the season. Managed to get into fights with three important players, benched them, and they announced they would not play for him again.

It took a serious effort by Spurs (mis)management to catch them going down.

Boris Johnson continues to haunt London...West Ham's relegation is gonna be expensive:

https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/articles/cr7pm71rvkvo
That’s just rent. Will they still have the revenue to manage upkeep on that stadium with champions league ticket prices and crowds?
