Contreras popped one just enough to sneak out. 102 MPH but up in the air (37 degrees). 378 feet, so I guess a homer in some other parks.

The inning unraveled on the Yelich K. I really want to hear what Millas was thinking. I'm thinking he thought it was called no swing by the 3rd base ump. That led to the next walk. A WP not blocked moved the runners up. Still, he got out of the jam at that point.

I think he’s a middle reliever being asked to be a high leverage reliever. Which is a judgment I place on other bullpen arms on this squad.

I’m not enamored with Beeter as I have observed that he can’t throw strikes. Yesterday he was 12 for 24 and as I stated in the game day thread he benefited from several calls that should have been challenged and swings and misses on pitches that were out of the zone. This is not an isolated instance as he consistently throws pitches not even close to the zone.

He’s just about the best of a really bad lot. His stats aren’t really good. FIP is almost 5.00.

With Beeter, it's not a stat argument. He seems to be one of the few guys or maybe the only guy in the bullpen who is healthy and doesn't melt down when put into the game with guys on.

Ribalta is the other guy who has been pretty good in high pressure situations.

yes. With Poulin hurt, I'm not sure there's a lefty I'm comfortable with in in favorable pockets of the order.
