He should be up in DC soon. He's done all he can in AAA. He played in the SEC, hit okay in AA last year, done well in AAA. Let him up to the majors and let's see what he is, for better or worse.
doesn't seem like Cairo wants to play Hassell so he's probably the odd man out.
Biggest issue is the roster crunch. Where do you play him? Who gets sent down? Crews will likely take Young's spot. Lile is raking. Wood certainly isn't going down. Seems silly to send Hassell back down as well.
Bell DFA. Rotate Franklin, Hassell, maybe Crews through DH.Won't happen. I can still hope it does.
DFA DeJong as well.
And this is the odd thing. Young cannot hit. Hassell seems to field CF. Why not start Hassell? Why start Young against southpaws and righthanders, both?
Cairo said he wanted to start Young in SF because their CF is so large, and then last night because it was a LHP
And another HR
And an exceptionally consistent high 390s On Base.
Unfortunately no room for him unless he can play 2nd or 1st.
I mean, we could easily make a spot for him. Send down Young. Franklin can start against LHP
I'd still rather see Hassell and Crews full-time in the OF with Lile at DH and Young as the 4th OF. Not sure it makes sense to bring Franklin up to use him on a limited basis.
Would have liked to se him get the call up instead of Nunez.
Was playing 2nd tonight but left the game early.
