Ryne Sandberg passes away at 65

Figured this deserved a post outside of the general Red Loft thread.

I remember watching him on WGN when I was a kid. He was probably my first favorite player. Too young. And such a good fielder.

I went through a period when my kids were little where I lost touch with sports. When my son got on his first little league team when we moved to Florida he had a teammate named Ryne, I of course called him Ryan until his dad (one of the coaches) sternly corrected me, and I went on to learn what an awesome player he was. I wonder now how sad Coach Fred is tonight :(

One of my earliest favorite players. I have his rookie card somewhere.
