I'll admit I'd have kicked to make it 16-13 with 6:30 left and the way Navy's d has played

One would think for a $5000 a year sports activity per student, JMU could score a touchdown.

Their opening drive looked good. And then, disaster set in. They still might cover the 21 point spread.

Doesn't look like JMU is going to win this one. :(

gonna get some heat about JMU  and Tulane over more SEC/ B1G at large teams (and Notre dame). How much worse is this than most of the hoops tournament conference winners from 1 bid conferences? This wasn't the year, but there were years when non-power conference winners should have made it. I'm good with the 5 best-ranked conference winners making it.

JMU hasn't embarrassed themselves.

If that score disqualifies JMU in the future, Tennessee should be in the same boat based on 2024

Well, I wrote that at the end of the 1st half when they were down by almost 30. Saban before the game had been all over JMU making it instead of Notre Dame. He's got a big microphone. Me, I favor conference winners over big conference at large in all tournaments. Really, college football and hoops would be better off with more conferences instead of the Big 18, etc...

Expanding the playoffs only to invite teams that have no chance to win is stoopid...

The basketball tournament should never have grown from 16 either...but that was about all including more teams for more games and more money.

No clue what including JMU and Tulane accomplished in a 12 team playoff other than essentially give another bye to Ole Miss and Oregon...nobody but alum or parents wanted to see either of those 2 games...

I guess you weren’t a fan of Mason’s run.

Not really...what's the point...a 4th place trophy?  Win or go home...or more succinctly...be capable of winning or stay home.  60+ teams in a tournament is nothing but a money grab...and it seems to work really well...

It seems to make more sense in basketball because they play 2 games a week...wasting a week on play-in scenarios for football with teams that have no chance to win seems pretty stoopid.

The Cinderellas make the first two rounds fun. After that, I normally watch until they lose then stop caring. Regular college basketball is just great players killing a year before the nba leading teams that barely know each other

The absurd layoff needs to end. The first round should be the week after championship games, the next round a week after.

It's tied to the tradition of big bowls on new year's day.  They don't want the semis on new years because there won't be enough big games. You syphon off the 12 playoff teams, you just have 2 games of the top teams. They need he quarters on 1/1.

The more likely solution will be no byes and a 16 team playoff.

The CFP is a separate entity form the Bowls. Honestly, they’d be better off playing this game on AT&T and taking in millions more than pretending it’s still somehow tied to the Big10/Pac 12

Games are duds. Weak teams.  So undoubtedly they will expand and bring in more mediocre teams.

I've said it before, but all this "Look at me" crap after someone makes a tackle or picks up a first down makes me sick.  Act like you've been there before, kids...take a lesson from Barry Sanders and Sweetness...

You'd think the coaches would enforce some level of discipline, but I guess NIL money makes that pretty improbable these days...

Ole miss’s drive ends on a botched face mask, Georgia’s saved by PI. Nice to know who the refs want to win
