No Kraft as well.

No word as to who had a hand in that.

Apparently, Kraft has been nominated or eligible the past 14 years and this is the first time he was a finalist. Went to the super bowl with 3 different coaches, responsible for settling the 2011 contract with the NFLPA that led to no stoppages since then, and major figure in the TV set up. Oh, then there's the matter of his team's record since he bought the Patriots, which was one of the worst run franchises in the AFL/NFL for its first 30+ years.

I guess I have no idea what the Hall track record is or criteria with owners.  Do they wait until they die usually?

Anyway I just put $5 on the Evil Empire to win Sunday.  What the heck. They have a good team. And Darnold is due to throw some picks. Milton the Monster will be in his face as he was with Mahomes.

Ian Rapoport reports that Justin Fields declined a pro-bowl bid.

What is the point of the pro bowl?

They moved it to Florida. At least Hawaii used to be a draw

Shadeur Sanders is a pro-bowler. They just make the game current NFL players vs retirees, it might actually be competitive.

Dominant defense or terrible offense but don’t remember anything like this since the Bears did it to the Pats 40 years ago.

Pretty sure I've seen every Superbowl...including those that weren't even called "Super Bowl."  I can't remember watching a less entertaining one...

I think the lack of hype leading up to the game was at an all-time low as well...almost as if the NFL knew this entire ordeal was gonna be a stinker...

4th quarter got interesting but otherwise just two dominant defenses. One just more dominant. Darnold getting a ring before Allen, Mayfield, and Lamar is something. Congrats Seattle.

Apparently the couple getting married in the halftime show actually got married during the halftime show.

I didn’t enjoy the halftime show because it’s simply not the type of music I listen to and I just plain wasn’t interested (we ate dinner during halftime, though we left the TV on and could hear it even if we weren’t totally paying attention). But with that said, at least it was energetic and I’d rather hear that than most of the performers they’ve had for roughly the past 15 years. Of course I get it that as a 50+ white guy I’m no longer their target demographic.

Give Darnold credit for avoiding turnovers.  And making a couple plays.  Was all he needed to do.

So now the Seahawks cut Darnold and he goes and wins 14 games with another team, right?

Only challenged by SB LIII (Patriots - Rams) for the worst of all time. Both teams conspire to put up the worst offensive performance in SB history, even with the flattering fourth quarter. The only SB where a kicker was in the running for MVP... :D  Gonzalez appeared to be the only Patriot playing football.

For once, have to disagree with Collinsworth - the 'greatest defence' title still rests with the '08 Giants, given the relative quality of the opposition (Brady's Patriots in their prime, and going for a perfect 19 - 0 season).

As the resident Pats fan, I had been listening to folks spin out ways to upset the Seahawks. It was win the turnover battle of the qbs, contain Walker, don't let JSN burn you, and hope Borregales wins the place kicker battle. Lots of recall of Darnold's comment after his rookie start vs Pats ("I was seeing ghosts out there").

Basically, other than a pretty good performance by the DBs, none of that broke for the Pats. I watched the game with my regular Pats table at CCSP and we were sitting there saying / hoping for a pick 6 or Jones punt return because the O was just not going to be able to score. Of course, the killers were the turnovers and a pick 6 the other way.

If I were to second guess anything, I wanted Maye to run more. Maybe the rush didn't leave lanes, but 1 run in the 1st 3 quarters was just   No rollouts even with the flow through left side of the line.

I expect Campbell will get surgery on his knee. His comeback from the ACL probably explains some of his playoff problems with bullrushes.

Kudos to Seattle D. Pats faced 4 of the 5 best Ds in the playoffs. While they had problems with all of them, none did the job as well as Seattle.
