Oilers finally cutting bait on Skinner. Sending him and Brett Kulak to Pittsburgh for Tristan Jarry and Sam Poulin.

(thanks for moving).

Oiler fans are not happy with this trade.

why? Skinner hasn't been Ken Dryden, but he's gotten the Oilers to the finals twice and played well in the playoffs. He's playing behind an awful defense. Jarry was so bad the Penguins waved him last year. He's older and has had durability / health issues. He also has barely any playoff experience (and has a >8.00 GAA in the few playoff games he's started). Skinner also makes half of Jarry's salary.

The Oilers also sent a 2nd round pick to Pittsburgh. Every analysis I've read so far says that the Oilers overpaid. The Athletic writers argued that the Oilers should have been able to get Jarry simply for Kulak and the 2nd rounder.

:hysterical:
I saw that.  The only thing more hilarious would have been him saying it to Gritty.  He’s a good announcer. Glad he just got a suspension.

Revisiting: Since Christmas Skinner has six wins and ranks 4th in the league in GAA and 5th in save percentage. Tristian Jarry, on the other hand, is playing in just his 4th game and just gave up 3 goals in under 40 seconds. He's now given up 11 goals in just under 3.2 games (including 5 tonight in the first two periods)

Wasn't Jarry injured for a good while?  What do Skinner's stats look like from 12/12 instead of 12/25?

Ah they both suck. It’s like talking about whether the Nats or Pirates will be worse this year.

Wings and Wild is an entertaining game.

If it was Jerry Sandusky, McKenna could be in big trouble...those types have had their stock rise a whole lot this past year
