Call is a gamer and does what the team wants in all except for power. Don't think I've caught him slacking off or taking a mental vacation while on the field ever.

IMHO, Ruiz plays because there's nobody better

Not sure how they can know this considering Adams and Millas have never been given an opportunity to prove themselves. As I've pointed out before Millas actually has a higher career OPS against major league pitching than Ruiz, and we know he's got the better defensive reputation. It doesn't seem to be performance they're looking at in determining who the starting catcher is.

Ruiz plays because of  a long big contract. This team will run someone into the ground is there is and meat on the bone?

And also the team's OBP leader.  He should be in the lineup everyday.

I was just thinking if the Nats would ever ask Gore to back of a bit in K's department in order to keep him pitching longer for the good of the team?

This teams lousy offense probably makes him think he is by himself at times

yes he does on a contending team that doesn't need a power bat but on this team he is a 4th outfielder defensive replacement

This team is not into creative strategy, but that's what the Giants do with all their starters.  That said, he gets a ton of swing and miss on the high four seamer, but it also gets hit hard when batters connect, it's not like he's walking a ton of guys.  He has a super high K rate, but not super high velocity, so he depends on that swing and miss.

Pivetta has an opt out after next year if we ever wanted him back.

I liked what he did in his career in Boston and Philly, He is 44 and retired and I love him for standing up to king Brice and calling him out for not playing hard. Interesting enough the Nats  released him and paid him a 3.3 million for a year not played. The man had a fire rare in baseball today. He actually gave a crap unlike Rendon who stated it was just a job. Glad we never resigned him.

Did Gore hit 100 pitches? he was close. imaging an inning + if he let his fielders catch a few?

Any stock tips?  Not sure it matters today.  The offense has taken a sabbatical.
