Probably better than they don’t silly classic uniforms which whatever this year’s team is. Grousbeck‘s timing was pretty perfect in retrospect
just a regrouping. Find some of the supporting cast for Tatum when he's back to normal. Pritchard showing he's not a starter. Questa seems like a find

LeBron's nearly 19 year streak of scoring at least 10 points per game ended last night.

Celtics hosting Bucks today in the Pioneer classic saluting the first 3 Black players in the NBA. Celtics wearing their classic unis with "1950" on the back near the waist. By far their best unis.

Cooper Flagg may be the best player in the league by the end of 2027

interesting concept being floated to cut down on tanking in the NBA: prohibit draft pick protection in trades for picks ##4-14. This raises the likelihood of having to give up a good pick if you have traded your #1 and ion a alter season try to tank.

It won’t make a difference. As long as one player determines the fate of a franchise, teams will do whatever it takes to get those players

I've come around to the view that if you abolished the draft and made all prospects free agents, but paired it with giving teams limited pools of money to spend on signing prospects (with the worst teams getting more, the best teams getting the least) it might make things easier for rebuilding teams and drive parity.

The good teams can't sign everyone: they have rosters full of stars. In this scenario, you might see bad teams signing multiple top prospects thanks to their mix of more pool money and more roster spots to give away to promising kids. Sure, some prospects will demand to go to the Lakers or nothing, but you might see scenarios where 2-3 top prospects from rival schools decide to play together in New Orleans and form a superteam like their childhood hero LeBron.

I think a certain number of bottom 5 finishes over a 5 or 10 year span should force the sale of the team. If an owner like Ted doesn’t care, fans should have to suffer for decades

NBA moving forward with expansion into Las Vegas and Seattle

With 1/4 of the league or so tanking, this should be interesting.

Just add two tanking teams. They thought the playin would make teams try, but an extra game or two before getting blown out wasn’t the draw they predicted.

Tanking and even the good teams sit their star players many games for load management. No reason to watch the regular season at all anymore.

Basketball is just a fundamentally flawed game when one or two players make such a difference. Only solution I can think of is to limit the time each player can be in a game to make things more competitive, but I can't imagine that ever happening.

Both the NBA and NFL can go to hell. I'm not subscribing to Amazon "Make-BezoRicher" Prime to watch a sporting event.

The Celtics have to be happy their collapse isn’t the one everyone’s talking about

yes. You get used to them turning in the occasional clunker when they are off on their 3 pointers, but since Embiid came back, the 76ers are legitimately beating the Celts rather just the Celts having off game. Blowing a 3-1 lead has happened before, but it deserves some grief if there's a big record / seeding difference. Philly is better than their regular season with both George and Embiid playing with Maxey and Edgecombe (and Oubre). George had a great game. Would help the Celts if Quetta could play more minutes, but the Celtics bigs can't stick with Embiid without fouling. You'd figure with 15 fouls to use on him they'd be able to limit him, but that's not the case. In terms of gagging, it looks really bad when Brown and Tatum miss free throws.

The NBA announced its new anti-tanking proposal, which will be voted on by the board of governors at the end of May.

Quote
A "3-2-1" lottery odds approach in which a total of 37 lottery balls are allocated to 16 teams. The bottom three teams would each receive two (5.4% chance at the No. 1 pick), teams 4-10 would receive three (8.1%), the No. 9 and No. 10 seeds in each conference would each receive two, and the loser of the No. 7 vs. No. 8 Play-In game would receive one.

The teams with the three worst records could pick no lower than No. 12. Everyone else in the lottery could pick anywhere from No. 1 to No. 16.

Teams could not pick No. 1 in consecutive years, or in the top five in three consecutive drafts.

Teams could not protect slots 12-15 in traded picks.

The commissioner would have increased powers to punish perceived tanking, including altering lottery odds or changing where a team picks.

The structural changes would last only through the 2029 NBA Draft, at which point the Board of Governors would be able to reconsider alternatives.

Sixers have not beaten the Cs since 1982.  I believe that was the year the Sixers blew a three to one lead and everyone assumed they would blow game seven in the Garden. But they pulled away at the end and the Boston crowd serenaded them with chants of “Beat LA”. Which they did.  But not until the following year.

those were both top of the league regular seasons teams back then. I think those were conference finals. This is different because it's a 2 vs 7 seed series.

I can’t wait to see a team either try to tank out of the playin or throw a playin game
