Wizards are reportedly trying to move up to #2 to land Dylan Harper but San Antonio also wants Harper.

Tough to move up when you have no assets to trade

I don’t believe it.  Wizards front office is pretty tight lipped.  Harper is not Flagg.

Consensus seems to be Harper would be first in an average year

The New Orleans Pelicans are trading CJ McCollum, Kelly Olynyk and a future second-round pick to the Washington Wizards for Jordan Poole, Saddiq Bey and the No. 40 pick, sources tell ESPN.

You said a couple months ago that Flagg was the only difference maker in the draft!

Looks like Wiz is trading Poole for CJ McCollum.  His contract expires after this season while Poole has two years I believe.  Trying to get rid of all the shameless shot takers.  This means they are taking Fears??

Ok. Just read the Wizards have $110 million coming off the books after 25-26.  Smart.  Middleton.  McCollum.  Olynk.  Let’s hope some of the young guys take steps forward and we become an attraction instead of a place to avoid.

Jake Weinbach says McCollum is viewed as a potential mentor to the young guys as well.

Did they just trade Poole for less than they spent to acquire him?

I thought DC sports would have its second Ace Bailey.  But I guess not. Fears?

They got an expiring contract which is really the only thing that matters.  They should be able to flip McCollum at the deadline for picks and such. They were forced to get Poole because the new regime needed to get rid of Beal.  Which required them to take Chris Paul who didn’t want to play in DC.

Ah... Tre Johnson.  Forgot about him.  6'6" but 6'10" wingspan.  Fits the mold they've been looking for.

The Caps had one of those and didn't help much.  He does seem like a head case.

So maybe Queen will slip to them at 18?  Doesn't seem their type player but they do need guys who can score.

Sorber is probably more their type. 7’6” wingspan.

Ok they trade draft Clayton Jr but trade him for picks 21 and 43 this year.  And a couple second rounders in the future.

never saw him play but he looks like a playmaker from what the analysts are saying. Wiz continue to stockpile 2nd rounders.

and they get Will Riley, reports are that he's a project with a ton of potential. They have 17 2nd round picks through 2031

I suppose those far off 2d rounders are useful in trade and draft movement

So they say.  They will be getting more this year when they trade the vets at the deadline.  Hope they stay healthy.
