Ruiz either needs to take an assignment to Triple A or becomes the backup. You can't be the worst hitter and worst defender at your position

We all know why that's not going to happen.

I doubt that will happen. He has a big long contract for "this" team. Gonna gonna squeeze out every bit of investment. And management doesn't like to admit to mistakes.

They need to put his name in the ring of honor...and take it down after 3 innings...

Yes.  Lernerbucks aren't regular dollars.  $50 million over 8 years isn't a lot, but 50 million Lernerbucks over 8 years is an absolute fortune with the way this org operates.

How many pitches does DeGrom throw in a start? Nats aren't likelyto knock him out...

Franny's mumbling a lot today, almost like he's starting not to believe his own BS

Franny has to spout the company line. Even if it chokes him to say it. Maybe baseball announcers should form a union or file a 1st amendment lawsuit to let them speak the truth.  j/k

Every team puts out some propaganda, but he's in a league of his own with this stuff, especially with the "that's the way you want to strikeout, make an error, miss the runner" silliness.

Franny now praising Hickey for being a "calming influence" as Henry walks another batter.

I guess Hickey wants to keep his job. It's hard to be positive when you deal with youth and never was pitchers. He wants to hang in till Cade and the kids give him an excuse for both their actions and his own inactions.

He doesn't have to worry about that.  He was hired and retained because he's Davey's friend.
