Nationals All-Stars 2025

With voting now open, i'm guessing Wood, Finnegan, and Gore are all likely all-stars.  Thoughts?

Gore and Wood should be all stars. I'm a Finnegan defender, but the reliever category will have to be thin for Finny to get in.

If it's one pick, then it would be interesting to choose between Wood and Gore. Outfield is a deep position. Gore leading in strikeouts helps his cause, but I think Wood is an emerging profile. I think they both should make it. The Nats aren't getting 3.

Almost seems that Gore has to make it.

Wood is not likely to get voted in, but being selected will depend on which teams get other positions voted in.  For example, if Miami has nobody voted in, and Gore is selected, then Stowers would seem to be ahead of Wood...

I do agree that these 2 Nats representatives does not seem excessive...

I picked CJ and Wood. Gore should also go. We have some better talent this year, deserves to make the team over other players.

Wood should be voted to The Game over Soto.

Wood and Gore are no brainers.  Gore seemingly taking the next step has been a revelation.

Agree.  Gore leads all MLB in K's, Wood is tied with Kyle Tucker for highest OPS among NL Outfielders.

Wood is ninth among NL OF'rs after the 1st round of voting. The top 6 make the team.

Abrams is 8th among shortstops. No other nationals cracked the top 10.

Gore and Wood to the ASG...

BTW...The NL took 7 outfielders, so Miami's Stowers is also going...

Looking at bWAR for NL SS

Abrams 3.2
Turner. 3.2
Lindor. 3.1
De La Cruz. 3.1.

CJ could have easily made it.

Turner and Elly are more worthy than CJ. The eye test doesn't lie.

Soto has been the best player in baseball for the last 45 days or so. Silly he didn't make it. Name six OFers more deserving presently? Somehow they did... doesn't mean they got it correct. Watch him tear up the league the rest of the year in an attempt to give everyone the middle finger.

So you’ve watched all the games for all three guys this year?  In terms of WAR it’s close for all of them and Lindor.  FWAR has Trea much higher but Elly at 3.0 and CJ at 2.9. Opposite of bWAR.  So they are having the same season according to the two major WAR measure.

Chris Sanchez is a snub.  It’s also silly Acuna is selected given how few games he has played.  But whatever.

Gore has gotta have one of the worst W-L records and still make the game. Not that it is a big indicator of anything but still.
