Have to save bullets for tomorrow.   I would go Salazar in the ninth.  Give him 5 batters

Looks like I missed some excitement from going sleep at 11-0.  Oh well they all count.

Rutledge just isn’t the answer. He maybe on the team by season end but will not be next year. Cut your losses now Rizzo.

He has way too much stuff to give up on.

What losses?  He’s under team control for years to come.

Our 2025 Nationals took the first series, against the D-Backs, so good to see them taking full advantage of the form-book, while they can. Sterner tests to come, but we'll enjoy it, for now... ;)

Trying to make a silk purse out of a pigs ear. A high draft choice who has had a downward trajectory in the MiLB . Went from a starter to relief and hasn't shown much despite having "good" stuff. He can't throw strikes and is very hittable. Send him back to Rochester.

He was doing fine up until the last couple appearances. His ERA was under 3.00 before those games.  Let’s see how he adjusts. Some have anyone to replace him that would be better?

Me, too. Soroka was steaming along, Bob and Branny were calling the Nats to keep adding runs. I told the GDT crowd to keep Arizona down...sounds like I missed some anxious innings.

Come on, Nats! Win today. Sweep them!

Washington’s nine runs were the second-most scored before a first out of the game in the expansion era (since 1961). The Red Sox hold the record with 10 runs on June 27, 2003, per Elias Sports Bureau.

The Nationals tied the National League record with nine runs before the first out, not done since the Phillies on Aug. 13, 1948.

With the :w: posted, we honor the memory of our friend Old Chelsea with the traditional post that tracks the Nats wins to date, in Anglophile style.

THE RACING PRECEDENTS - Comparative dates on which the Nationals notched their 28th win, each season:

2017 - 24th May (45th match of season)
2016 - 24th May (46th match)
2018 - 26th May (50th match)
2012 - 26th May (46th match)
2015 - 27th May (47th match)
2013 - 31st May (55th match)
2025 - 31st May (58th match)
2005 - 2nd June (54th match)
2014 - 3rd June (56th match)
2019 - 5th June (61st match)
2024 - 7th June (63rd match)
2010 - 8th June (59th match)
2006 - 8th June (61st match)
2011 - 10th June (64th match)
2007 - 13th June (65th match)
2021 - 14th June (63rd match)
2008 - 14th June (70th match)
2023 - 21st June (73rd match)
2022 - 27th June (76th match)
2009 - 22nd July (94th match)
---
2020 - finished 26-34

The 2024s had a 4-game losing streak before win #28 to drop them behind the per game pace of 2014 and 2019. 28-30 puts the 2025s between 2014 and 2010. Still ahead of 2019.
