Rubenstein I believe is worth about $4 billion and he strikes me as a guy who wants to be a player in MLB.  We shall see.

The Orioles have been terrible this year but they still have more young talent and a brighter future than the Nats.

Agree.  They're out of sorts right now, but their farm system has been far more productive.

In childhood, I was taught to despise the Baltimore Orioles, the Browns that MLB stole from Bill Veeck and gave to the Hoffberger Beer Barons. AAA team moving to a minor-league city inside the Nats' TV territory.

I would like Rubenstiein to do that but he has a seat at the big boy table now. Few people remember Angelos Sr was the richest of all owners  all the time he owned the O's. All those billions from tobacco company settlements never made its way to the team, Billionaires don't get rich by spending extra money on non profitable purchases, unless he is in it for the sport

Don't like to see outfielders playing hard and getting hurt that way

If he's hurt Crews will mature in the bigs. Brady Anderson played that way for O's too.

Pulling Irvin probably good. He was standing around and O's figuring him out now. Up to Ferrer

Rubenstein was in the stands at least one game throwing T-shirts to the fans. Not something you'd have seen an Angelos doing.

Angelos made the money to buy the team from asbestos litigation. He wanted to use the tobacco settlement fees to buy a football team, but the litigation with the state over reducing his fee (since the state joined the multi-state settlement rather than proceeding with its own litigation by his team) prevented that from happening and also reduced what he might have had available for the Orioles. The disclosures in that case - like billing the state hourly rates based on his own staff's rates while farming the work to low-paid temps - also didn't help his public image.
