New ESPN-Disney Streaming Offering
« on: May 13, 2025, 12:27:29 pm »
https://www.cnbc.com/2025/05/13/espn-streaming-app-cost-bundle.html

- $29.99 for all ESPN programming (live and on-demand)
- $35.99 with Disney+ & Hulu (with adds). Disney+ & Hulu are free for the first year

ESPN+ is currently $11.99 or $16.99 with the Disney+ - Hulu w/ads bundle

I feel like these companies are getting away from the price point that made cord cutting seem like the fiscally responsible option.

Like, $6.99 a month for no ads.... Hell yeah, sign me up. But the fact that they have tiered levels of adds and every single thing I want to watch on different platforms requires a booster subscription to a different platform is ridiculous. I'll just watch youtube.

Yeah, I think we're way past the point where it's a good value. Now it's only 'good' if you just pick two services max and refuse everything else.

ESPN's new streaming service officially launches on 8/21 with the WWE premium live events (aka "pay per views") now part of the offering. I assume the NFL network and Red Zone will also be part of it.

Steep price to pay at $29.99 a month.

I hope this doesn't replace the espn+ and Disney package I have. I have that pretty much just for Yale sports and Marvel stuff. I have not even activated Hulu.

AFAIK no, at least not yet. They are still keeping ESPN+

If this thing costs $30 a month, leagues should be panicking. I think far more people will decide that it isn’t worth it than people are guessing. Certainly no casual fan will pay

They will probably sell more of the Disney-Hulu bundle for $6 more.

I get ESPN+, Disney, and Hulu through Verizon for free now. I can't see changing anything.
