FWIW, #2 is the first place Toronto Blue Jays.
The Coles effect.

I think we are going to see Coles and Hickey start to get ripped to shreds by more analytic articles.

I think it's going to spread across all Nats blogs and into the Post's coverage, especially from Golden.

There's definitely an article documenting the Coles effect statistically.

Yesterday. Most of the game with only one hit. Bobby Harrellls' 2-run home made the score look closer.

Boras provides off season coaching to his players.  I'm sure he's feeling motivated not to let Wood fall victim to this org's coaching.  This has turned into a remarkable slump.

Wood was outperforming. He was never scouted to hit for average. He is a three true outcomes hitter.

This is it, right? The freaking A’s faced two batters above the minimum.

Again Franny and Kolko were pretty frank post game. Frandsen said he saw the plan today and it wasn't to swing early. 40% chase rate against a guy who had been 18 pitches an inning was not the plan.

Did he not see the pitch differential?  Can he do basic math?

they are giving conflicting messages. The swing aggressively at strikes is turning into swing early rather than be selective. When they go up against a junkballing lefty in a day game who walks close to 4 per 9 and is near the most pitches per inning, they get too aggressive and get themselves in holes. 40% chase today
