personally, I'm shocked that this guy could go from a stiff from 2021-23 to an all star last year.

I assume you mean 2012-23. He was at best a middling journeyman for a decade, and suddenly he's an All-Star. Yeah, that would raise a bunch of flags.

Busted for PEDs.

This is why you don't sign 30-something players coming off career years following a winter with the daddy of a dude who tested positive.

I can't say there's an active MLB player I dislike more than him.  Skated on prospect hype for like 8 years, then did PEDs.  Just send Jarred Kelenic down to Tatis next.

Fringe player gets a career year and a $42 million contract. He’ll lose $6 million, but unless he’s an idiot, he’ll be clean and accepting paychecks through the end of the deal.
