Sign Max. He will set fire to a few gutless starters the Nats want to rely on.
if he comes back next year it’s going to be on a one year deal with a contender.

Max resigning with Nats will not only provide a powerful mentor but will also sell more tickets just to see him pitch. Win Win Lerner Family. Are you listening?

Respectable start for Max in Game 7 of the WS. Not as good as his previous start but still kept the Jays in the game for (almost) 5 innings.

I feel like the length sitting in the dugout was a factor. The Jays were really making the Dodgers work to get outs and he had to sit cooling off for ages before getting back out there. If he'd been able to keep the arm warm and the rhythm going he could have gone longer.

That's fair, too bad the Jays were not good enough with RISP in that game, Max coulda went for 5 full innings and had gotten another WS win.

nice deal. $3 million salary with $10 million in bonuses. Very fair to both sides.

Still pitching OK. Nothing is telling him to hang up the spikes.

Max back on the IL with forearm tendinitis and ankle soreness. He has a 9.64 ERA this year. Hopefully this isn't the end of the line, but it isn't looking good.  He had two good starts, and four downright awful starts.

Not many pitchers still had it in their 40s (without PEDs).  The Niekros and Big Units were statistical outliers and physical freaks of nature.

Knuckleballers don’t count. They don’t pronate their arm like conventional pitchers.
