On this week's 11th inning podcast Kolko announced that 9/27 will be "See you later" day at Nats park. The Nationals will be honoring Carp and will be unveiling a plaque with his name under the TV broadcast booth. Ceremonies will be at 3 PM.

Update: T-shirt giveaway as well. Seems it should be a scorebook giveaway.

Two Bobs who have been Nats broadcasters are and will be in the broadcasting Hall of Fame: the original, Bob Wolf, who began broadcasting on TV about 1947, and the new Bob. It has been nice to hear Bob Carpenter's voice all these years.

The Carpenter see you later shirt has almost no decoration on the front, but in the upper left there's his scorebook notation of one at bat: Howie's shot off the foul pole. His notation has the pole and flight path,  "HR" underneath, and 2 runs scored

I'm sure it's been posted here before but there is a video out there in the ether of Bob attending a wnff gathering for a couple of hot dogs and a chat.

MASN was going to replace Bob early on. The fans, including WNFF members, rallied to get him to stay. Bob made it through the bad years, the playoffs and World Series win in 2019, and now back to more bad years. Good luck, Bob!

He gave us a Cards reference in today's game, throwing WNFF a bone!  I had a drink in his honor.

On the off chance Bob still looks here between innings or after the game, best to you. Every staff person and owner I talked to at CCSP always mentioned how nice you have been when you stop by. You seem that way on TV. You will not only be missed but admired.

Bob just mentioned fan support he got to keep him here many years ago.

Does anyone have that picture of a bunch of us from when Bob hosted us at the Collin Balester event?

I will miss hearing Bob. We have had a great privilege of have a great TV and Radio broadcast for the team for many many years. Our Radio broadcast in my opinion is one of the top in all baseball, and Bob is still one of the top guys in TV, he will be missed

Sad to see Bob sign off for the last time. Met him once and he was the nicest guy in the world.

Might be the only person in this organization that nobody can say a bad word about.

Well, his scorebook handwriting is a bit messy. :)
