I recall a kitty who apparently toek the ferry from Hoek to Harwich a few years ago...

Spotted on a UK website, where they might just have placed too much reliance on AI... ;)

'Q - What is the US holiday Thanksgiving actually all about?'

'A - It generally revolves around giving thanks...'

You don't say ? !... :D

And the winner is... ;)

If you're going to have a problem with encryption and improper key handling, I suppose it's better than if the guy simply made his private key available to all, and as an added bonus it wasn't a simple matter to crack the encryption with 2/3rds of the key. It's embarrassing, sure, but imagine if the story were 'Helios encrypted election results for Crypto leadership made freely available due to poor ciphers and low quality encryption.'

Indeed - but you have to admire the irony...

It is further proof that, as always, the weakest link in the encryption process is the human one... ;)

Raccoons are like the bikers of the forest.  Trash panda pagans.  But oddly fastidious...when I lived in Miami I used to watch a family come to raid the cat food dish and then mum, dad, and the 3-5 little ones would all wash their paws in the swimming pool.

Looking forward to a trash panda category at the Westminster dog show.  There will be expensively coiffed raccoons being fed truffle linguine in The Plaza dining room

Over here, racoons have been kept as 'exotic' pets ( :'()  for some time - one escaped and went on a similar rampage thru someone's house; it took several days before it was recaptured...

A comment I made over 13 years ago in the "Backyard critters" thread would fit into the present line of discussion here:

Indeed they are a lot more clever than people think. I recall a camping trip once where we awoke in the middle of the night to a crash. Three raccoons had pushed our cooler off the picnic table outside our tent so that the lid popped open when it hit the ground. One was running off with the pack of hot dogs and another had unscrewed a jar of peanut butter and was licking it out of the jar.

I had a friend make me some chocolate cups one time that had about a gram of mushrooms in them. I brought two on a camping trip once but as I was setting up my hammock, I turned around to see only one sitting on the table, and a raccoon running off with another one. I had my night vision and thermal with me on that trip so I got to spend my night watching the poor bastard fall out of a tree on repeat. I don't know if that will encourage or discourage it from stealing food from campsites in the future.

Just put on some grateful dead music and you'll attract them by the dozens.
