ESPN says the Mets will go with a 6 man rotation, even after shutting down Franky Montas for 6-8 weeks with a lat strain.

I doubt we see 300 wins again, may as well add the 200 inning starter to the list too

Braves are listed as favourites to win the NL East this year according to most casinos/sportsbooks, with the Mets in 2nd favourites. What say you, oh WNFF faithful?

So famine and death in 3rd and 4th

...because the Nationals roster is incapable of WAR...

ESPN gives us a chance.... :-)

Quote
Washington Nationals: 2024 record, 71-91

2025 win total: 69.5 (O -120/U -110)
Odds to win: Division (+10000), NLCS (+10000), World Series (+15000)

OVER 69.5 wins: The Nationals aren't a good team and THE BAT X gives them only a 0.4% chance to win the NL East. That said, 70 wins isn't a high bar to clear. The margin on this one is smaller than others (73.5 projected wins), especially if the team sells off pieces at the trade deadline, but they did make some legitimate additions this off-season in Nathaniel Lowe and Josh Bell, among others. I am also in no way being glib when I say that Patrick Corbin's contract expiring is a true case of addition by subtraction. -- Carty

The only teams with worse odds in the NL are the Marlins and Rockies.

tbh, that should not be surprising. The Pirates have a division in which they can pile up wins. There's no super teams there. D-backs just need a few bounce backs to go with the talent they added, Giants are solidly mid-pack, while the Nats play with 3 clubs that on paper might be the 2d-4th best in the league. The Nats could be middle quality and still have long odds.

While they'll finish ahead of the Nats, never underestimate the ability of the Mets to Met.

Mets just lost Manaea to an oblique strain and madrigal to a broken shoulder. Montas is already out until likely June.

I'd take the Braves as of today, seeing as the Mets lost a few key players to injuries already...

I don't think any of the big 3 will have serious enough injury problems to finish below 82 wins, so I think that even the best case for the Nats is 4th.

I don’t worry about them making it to 82 with all the wins they get to bank wins against the Nats and Marlins.

The Nats were 8-5 against the Braves, so that's one bank that went bust in the NL East.

What are the odds of improving on the 2-11 record against the Mets?

Nick Madrigal out for the season after undergoing shoulder surgery. He's been hurt almost every year of his career.
