down to a 24,748 average, ranking 21st after 13k and 16k yesterday for the Tigers...with a healthy contingent of Tigers fans

guessing "Let's Go Red Sox" and July 4 weekend will provide a boost, but things could be light again until the Phillies and Mets come to town in mid-August

Fwiw, the Sox games on 7/4 and 7/5 are blacked out for exchanges at least the past week.

Looks like everyone who would otherwise be at Braintree Plaza today decided to fly down for this game.

I ran into Sully there. It was wicked awesome

But seriously, the guys I sat next to is a friend of Trot Nixon since high school. Caught up on Trot's kids (baseball players). I knew the oldest was born on 9/11/01. The guy was there with his own son, ready to move from coach pitch to kid pitch baseball.

I mean this is rock bottom. This is about as bad as this team is going to get and they're pulling 24-25k a game.

2M+ annual attendance is good for a crappy team, right?

Lots of visiting fans, but not bad overall considering the team’s play and high ticket prices. I remember the late 2000’s when the Post still had an O’s beat writer and sports talk radio couldn’t spell Nats.  I’m not there anymore, but it seems the region has done a good job embracing the team.

Puts them lower third. But with the increased cost of concessions, yea, that's pretty solid.

Saw recently where Nats Park has the highest priced concessions in MLB...not to mention the high price for parking and seats...

5th in concessions according to this:
https://247wallst.com/sports/2024/07/08/mlb-stadiums-with-the-most-expensive-concessions/

Oracle, Wrigley, Fenway, and Citi are all more expensive.

Median ticket price is 13th at $91:

here's a newer ranking: https://www.webstaurantstore.com/blog/628/beer-hot-dog-and-ticket-prices-at-major-league-baseball-parks.html

Most expensive beer, not in the top 5 in hot dogs.

Not sure if they are comparing the same size beers though.

The food may be costly but the local places they brought in are terrific. The irregular attendees (Tigers and Sox fans) all commented on it.

Interesting, I wonder if we would've cracked the 1.5M mark without those crappy concerts

How many concerts have there been that would account for 500,000 extra people in a stadium that draws about 20 K on its own?
