Wood is 6th in MLB bWAR at 3.9; 9th in fWAR at 3.5.  So impressive for a young guy.

Gore is 6th in NL pitching bWAR (2.7) although his ERA has slipped a bit and is up to 3.19

3 out of 5.
Eh, record is too bad to be mentioned. The 11 game losing streak ended scoreboard watching.

Mitchell Parker having two quality starts in a row after his nightmare streak and James Wood continuing to solidify himself as an elite hitter were the big stories last evening.

I like it when bWAR and fWAR are the same or similar.

yes. the quality of the play seems better.

The 11 game losing streak is going to be a bit of a mystery sometime in the future. It blew up the season, but it's not clear how it happened, especially the 6 games at the start of the homestand. Other than that, this has been a near .500 team.

They also had a 1-6 start to the season and a 7 game losing streak in April.

Brady House's glove.  In his short time up, he's at 2 Outs Above Average at 3B compared to -6 for Tena, and -7 for Rosario.

His bat has will need at least 200-300 more PAs to get productive, but encouraging start.

he brings back memories of Rendon and Zimmerman in the field (well, Zimmerman before he blew out his shoulder)

I get streakiness, but this team carries it to an extreme. The 3 streaks amount to 1-24. That's just flat out weird.

A plus defensive infielder with a major league average bat would be a godsend. I don’t need Brady House to be a star, I need Brady House to be good enough to let Nats worry about other problems.

Some positives to close out June:
- .500 over our last ten
- outscored the Padres 13-11
- competitive games against the Dodgers (outscored 22-19, won one, lost one by 1 run)
- won 2 out of 3 vs the Angels, outscored them 24-21
- Bullpen allowed 0 ER in 4.2 in game 1 vs LAA and 1 ER in 6 in game 3.

.629 OPS over his last 6 with 3 doubles.

The Nats will not have to face Tarik Skubal during the Tiger series.

And we’re back: 7-6 over our last 13. Offense is on fire.

Before lunchtime on the West Coast.  I'm as excited as Franny gets when a Nats hitter strikes out "the right way".

That’s a shame. I wanted to see him pitch.

Nationals have an ace and one no doubt middle of the order star bat. Not bad pieces to build around.
