I've seen this movie before. The Yankees are going to accidentally leave these bats in New York before a big roadtrip to Boston and they will discover that the power to hit home runs came from within, not from a special bat.
Judge says he's not going to use the new bat. Doesn't need to mess with what is working.

Juts don't tell him it's the World Series.

I don't think he would be using the new bat to catch. :)

Rafael Devers sets a record with the most Ks in the first 5 games of a season, at 15. I guess the concern with how the position change would affect him was valid.

Twins and Brewers win, so the Braves are the only team left without a win yet this season.

Anne Arundel County's Jackson Merrill signing a 9 year/$135 million extension with the Padres through 2034, his age 31 season.  All-Star last year with an .826 OPS, younger than Wood and Crews.

Any opt-outs? That honestly feels light to me even given it covers some pre-arb years. I think the Padres got a steal.

He’s from my hometown. What’s weird is he didn’t go to Mount St. Joesph’s in Baltimore.

Time for Rizzo to work his Padres trade magic and swap Merrill for Rutledge and Call. :)

No MLB team starting the season 0-7 has ever made the playoffs.

Yea but for a long time only two teams made the post season.  And then four for a while.  Now it’s 12.

just under $36 million per year. I recall a couple of years ago there were worries  about him hitting his ceiling. Nice pay if you can get it.

Happy to see that.  Didn't want him going LA or NYC.

Per Heyman: No deferred money, no opt-outs, signing bonus, and full no-trade clause. Second richest contract ever (by NPV) behind Soto.

He's a star in that market...something that some owners value.  Imagine that...

Gotta think every team will be using these soon:

Where's Welch?  I seem to recall that light hitting Eddie Brinkman swung a bat that had a lower fat spot than most did.  No idea where he would typically make contact though.
