Kieboom had a good spring.

14 AB's is a rather small sample size, but he did more this spring than he ever did for the Nats.  Watch him become an All Star now that he's rid of this disfunctional organization...

Yeah, because the Angels have been such a successful organization all these years compared to the Nationals.

They look like the Bronx Bombers these last 5 years compared to the Nats...

Que?

They went 63-99 last year in arguably the weakest division in baseball, and they're going on 10 straight losing seasons.

The Nats are a dumpster fire right now, but the Angels might be one of like four teams that are just as pathetic.

The angels had two generational players and squandered them. At least Ohtani got out.

Their winning percentage over the past 5 years is greater...

Dominic Smith, who had opted out of his minor-league deal with the Yankees when he didn't make the opening day roster, re-signs with them.

I apparently forgot Reynaldo López in the list of former Nats. He came up through the system, played in 11 games in 2016 (6 starts), and was part of the package with Giolito for Eaton. Atlanta just put him on the IL.

Dane Dunning, the other guy in the Eaton trade, was sent to the Rangers' AAA club at the end of ST. He never played higher than low A/rookie league for the Nats.

Dunning was traded the year he was drafted, IIRC

Here's the MLBTradeRumors article: https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2025/04/victor-robles-carted-off-field-with-shoulder-injury.html
sorry to hear this. The article talks about an injury history since 2019, but I the only ones I recall here were in 2023, when he got off to a good start, and 2024 in early April that led to Young's call up. In either 2022 or 2021 he was sent to the minors to grow up, and I forget why he was limited the other year.

Saw Victor make the catch and get hurt live last evening.  Tough one for him.  He had just scored the tying run.

Don't get me wrong - I feel for Victor following his painful and unpleasant experience. However, I can't help but contrast with your typical Aussie Rules game - players will dislocate a shoulder, go over to the sideline to have it popped back in, and then are back out on the field to resume the game... ;)

I'm reading that Victor has a fracture and is out at least 12 weeks.  Maybe the season.

Corbin gave up 3ER on 5H in 5IP yesterday. 2BB / 0K. ERA sitting at a normal 6.75

Nick Pivetta is doing great.  Would have been a better signing than Soroka.

He got 4/$55M, seems like a lot for a 32 year old who hasn't posted an ERA below 4 since 2020 and who hasn't thrown more than 150 innings since 2022.
