Could Kyle make a case for HoF if he gets over 500?

Wouldn't be surprised to see Fedde DFA'd pretty soon.

last 10 starts: 6.41 ERA
last 5 starts: 9.61 ERA

That's the Fedde we know, without knowing if he still nibbles...and misses. I still remember Fedde's pained expression game after game, as Davey pulled him. And shots of Scherzer talking to Fedde on the bench, seeming to lecture him.

Joe Coleman has passed away, he was the very first draft pick in DC baseball history.

Coleman was a fine pitcher for the Nats. Bob Short gutted the team in '71 when he traded Coleman, Jim Hannan, Aurelio Rodriguez, and Eddie Brinkman for the dead-armed Denny McLain. Coleman promptly won 20 games for Detroit.

Just watched Nats legend Jeter Downs hit a home run for the Fukuoka team in the NPB.

One of the Pacific League games is in each day on a free Roku channel.

Hope he's enjoying himself on a real major league team.

If the Nats somehow decide to spend big this off-season, I'd love it if they made him the foundational vet for this roster. It won't happen barring a sale, but I look at what the Rangers did when they picked up the Semien and Seager and some others after being awful. This was 2022, the year before the World Series, and did not  immediately work out, but they kept on augmenting the roster. Their baseline when they started to spend wasn't much more than we have, IIRC. Adolis Garcia and some kids coming up. Nathaniel Lowe was already playing well, I think, but Jonah Heim wasn't all that highly regarded.

Just turned on the Phillies-Orioles in time to see Schwarber hit a grand slam, second HR tonight.

So that's 40 in 112 games...a 58 HR pace...

A Cubs beat writer posted earlier that Soroka had an MRI last week to see if there were any issues related to his recent drop in velocity and it came back clean. He wasn't experiencing any pain.

Looks like we fleeced the Cubs.

Sorry for him. Sorry for DeBartolo too. Don’t want teams thinking you hid health info and sent damaged goods. The Cubs did their own med check, but there will be suspicions
