wonder how long they've tried to work around it. Certainly has been mostly off over the 2d half of the season. 7.54 ERA, .308 / .392 / .541 over 37 innings.

Injury updates via Zuck (from Cairo):
- Gore played catch yesterday
- Josiah Gray threw 30 pitches over 2 “innings” of live BP today in West Palm Beach

Wonder if they get Gray out for a rehab start in Rochester before the season ends?

I think they absolutely get him out to a rehab assignment. Big question is does he make it back to the big league club.

Also, it seems promising that Gore is playing catch already. Even if he is done for the year, it would seem his shoulder isn't too bad.

Good. I am tired of seeing Parker and Irvin keel over in the first.

Gray made his start today in Wilmington and it was a tale of two innings. Perfect first with a K. Came out in the second with one out and the bases loaded on 2 walks and a HBP. 34-18.

Zuck said on the last Nats Chat that he looked like he was having trouble locating any of his breaking pitches.

Keibert Ruiz experienced mild headaches this weekend and was taken off his rehab assignment with Harrisburg. He’s going to rejoin the Nats here in Miami and continue through his concussion protocol.

I'm starting to wonder how many concussions he's had. Zuck said he took a ball off the mask in a game and reported headaches the next day. This is not indicative of minor concussion issues. This is what happens to guys who have had several.

He apparently took a foul ball off his face mask in the second inning and then proceeded to stay in the game through 6 innings as was the original plan for his rehab that day. It was then later that evening or the next morning he reported having headaches.

Kinda unbelievable they did not remove him from the game after getting hit in the face mask with a foul ball while on rehab for a concussion.

1.2 innings, 4 hits, 2 strikeouts. 32-21

The 18th would be the next scheduled started and that could come in Rochester. The 23rd would be his next scheduled start and they could either throw in to start the game against the Braves, or have him pitch a simulated game/practice squad game. From there, his regular fifth day would be the last game of the season.

Not sure why everyone is excited about Gray returning to the rotation. He is Joe Ross v2.0

That's an improvement over two of our current starters
