Law has a partially torn flexor tendon and is undergoing surgery to repair it. He's a FA at season's end so his time here is done unless they bring him back on a minor league deal next year.

Some updates from Zuck:
- Williams had the internal brace procedure, not a full Tommy John, so he'll be back next season more than likely
- Ruiz has started light baseball activities, no timetable
- Crews is potentially going to be ready for a rehab assignment on Tuesday
- Ribalta head to Rochester

Nussbaum:
Quote
Dylan Crews
- Completed workouts and baseball activities over the weekend without issue
- Took ground balls, fly balls, played catch, hit off the tee, flips, hit BP and ran the bases
- Will continue progression towards rehab assignment

he's hit 60 days already, so this is not an indication of a set back. My guess is he may not be activated until some vets are traded and a roster spot opens. that fits with his time line.

The deadline is next week. Crews will need at least that to get back into the swing of things.

Ruiz seems to have been shelved. Let him rehab in Rochester, when he can play agsin. Then leave him there as the ready-to-go 3rd string catcher.

You cant. He has an MLB contract. Once his rehab assignment is done, they either place him on the 26 man or DFA him

Unfortunately he's out of options.  But any and all measures to keep him from playing should be considered.  I like what I see from DeBartolo, but I'll believe the org has really turned the corner when it's ready to dump a contract with $35 million or so left on it, not play it.

tbh, that $35 million is why he could get waived off the 40 man and outrighted to Rochester. No one will take that on.

I forget his name, but the Red Sox had a Cuban signed they did that to a few years ago. He spent 3 or so years in AAA and was pretty good there, but was never added back to the 40 man and no other team dealt for him.

Zuck says Crews will be in Rochester for at least two more games (Tuesday/Wednesday) so that would line him up to be back for the weekend assuming they give him Thursday off.

Millas placed on 10 day IL. Is there any expectation he'll play again this season?

There's still room on the 40 man roster, so Stubbs could be added without him going on the 60.
