Chafin to the 15-day IL (retroactive to June 11) with a hamstring strain, Ryan Loutos recalled.
wow. We really are running a home for everyone's DFAs and any vet who didn't sign over the winter. Not going to root against the guy, but this has the feel of trying to find a smoking gun document in the midst of a discovery document dump.

I wonder what happens with DeJong assuming House is up for good. Just DFA since he only signed for $1M?

I mean, could he play another position? Could he platoon at DH?

He can play short but I’d guess he’s optioned to AAA or released

I'm not certain DeJong's purpose in DC once healthy. Amed Rosario has done a really god job as a backup utility infielder who is hitting LHP well. Maybe you keep DeJong is AAA as insurance if Rosario is traded or there is an injury?

I don't think he can be optioned without his consent.

Players with more than five years of service time must consent to being optioned.

Ruiz had a cat scan last night and has a lump on his head per Zuck. Guessing Millas is on his way to San Diego

Are you saying his came back clean or are you saying X-rays do not show much for concussions a general matter?

It was the headline when Dizzy Dean took a comebacker off the head.

hopefully they give Millas the chance to be the primary catcher rather than sit on the bench as Adams' backup.

Ruiz needs to be in Rochester. There’s not one part of his game is major league caliber.

He is hitting 150 points higher than Adams. Sad to say.

Hard to imagine them giving Millas more than a handful of PAs, they seem to really not like him.

I suspect they'll use the next week to give Adams multiple starts to see if he can get his bat going with regular work.

This. I would look at the 3 of them and give the one they think can help the defense the most the most work. That probably puts Adams last in my book.
