Bad company needs to be in.  Oasis would be fun if the brothers started to fight as they received their award.

1st time for Joe Cocker to get a nomination? For him to make it, I guess he'll have to get by with a little help from his friends.

:)

Whoever is left.

This thing becomes a bigger and bigger joke each year.  A couple of these I've never even heard of.

Spent 5 weeks in Pago Pago.  We took a small plane to Apia one weekend. Western Samoa.  Some locals onboard.  No shoes.  I still remember the guy sitting across from me.  His leg was like a tree trunk.

Nice.  I met an Indonesian guy who worked in Papua, he reported that the jitneys there pretty much run on Slayer and Megadeth.

For some reason Thrash and Grindcore always seem to have travelled well - one thinks of early greats like Sepultura, from Brazil, and Outrage (still going strong) from Japan.

I have been jamming on Tennessee Jet lately. There is a song of his that I like better but I feel like this one would go over better with this crowd  :P .

Saw Max Weinberg's juke box last night at The Barns at Wolf Trap. He's there again tonight.

Really fun couple of hours. He shows a running list on a screen behind the stage of songs that they will play, and then heads out into the audience to collect requests. In between songs he tells a bunch of stories about his career. At the end of the show he invited anyone who wanted to come on stage and join him for Glory Days. His backing band were The Weeklings, a Beatles tribute band that includes Glen Burtnik who was Tommy Shaw's brief replacement in Styx in the early 1990's. The playlist was mostly rock and roll songs from the 60s and 70s, including a lot of British invasion bands, but also bands like Led Zeppelin, The Band, Cream, Bob Seger, The Ramones, and of course, Springsteen.

The Barns is a great venue, it holds around 300 people, and it's an old barn, so a very intimate setting with fantastic acoustics.

Great song. Don't know TJ too well, but reminds me of why I like Dwight Yoakam.

When I saw the song was "Apolitical Blues," I figured it was a cover of something from my generation:

This version is with Mick Taylor and not really off Waiting for Columbus.
