Svrluga piece on Gore and how he overcame a 6 week awful streak mid-season to finish strong. Nothing too specific in terms of an aha moment. More or less focus and drive. There's a discussion of wanting him to throw regularly into the 7th inning.

Young arrived to camp jacked. Put on a lot of muscle.
Roger Bernadina walked so Michael Taylor could run so Victor Robles could fly so Jacob Young can soar

Our spotty hitting CFs love to get bulked

Guest instructor schedule per Zuck:
2/18-23: Ryan Zimmerman
2/21-23: Ian Desmond
2/26-28: Tyler Clippard
3/1-4: Anibal Sanchez
3/4-6: Denard Span, Danny Espinosa, Adam LaRoche
3/7-9: Drew Storen
3/11-13: Jordan Zimmermann
3/15-17: Jayson Werth

doesn't look like Dibble or Tony Plush are going to be there.

Any idea when they'll release the broadcast schedule for the Nats?

:lmao: what would make you think Stras has any interest in coaching/mentoring?

Stras was a pitching coach for the USA National 18U team last year.

he's probably through with golf, too, so no reason to hang in West Palm Beach now.

i wonder what kind of physical shape he's in. That Post article from last year was pretty depressing. It would absolutely suck to be in one's mid-30s and have limited use of an arm/shoulder (though the financial compensation probably helps offset the pain).

I assumed he moved back to San Diego after selling his home in Virginia

Mini Me hasn’t just burnt that bridge, he’s exploded it in such a way that it can’t be rebuilt.

I actually think it was that Rizzo letter accusing him of loafing that did it...

Here were the fielders (primary/backup) for the first full workout yesterday, looks like DeJong is the primary option at 3B:

1B: Lowe / Bell
2B: Garcia / Wallace
SS: Abrams / Rosario
3B: DeJong / Tena
RF: Crews
CF: Young
LF: Call / Yepez (Wood didn't participate).

I hope Tena gets chance to win the job this Spring, but if our rotation is going to include 4 starters in their 20's under team control, maybe DeJong at 3B isn't the worst thing.

I'm going to the opener on Saturday afternoon, but judging by how many tickets are still available, I won't have much company.

will just miss them on my trip to Fort Myers. Was going to catch the Nats in Port St Lucie on 2/28, but the friend I'm going with decided to go to just 2 spring games to make the travel easier and to save a few bucks. Nats will be in Ft Myers 3/3, when I'll be leaving.

I'll be there to mentor.

Actually going to Scottsdale to see the Giants, and their top prospect, Bryce Eldridge, from Madison High in Vienna, VA.

Now...let's see...

' You useless heap of overpaid garbage - you bums make the White Sox look good. Call yourself professionals - you're the laughing stock of MLB, you sad losers...'

Hey - there's nothing to this mentoring lark, is there?... :D   ;)
