I enjoyed it, but the original is one of my all-time faves and it was the middle movie on a 15 hour flight so perhaps the bar wasn't set very high.
so you tried to turn the volume in the entertainment system to 11 then? :)

Watched the Rob Reiner retrospective on CBS on Sunday and they showed that scene from the original. They noted the movie was largely ad-libbed because Reiner didn't want it to feel scripted.

He was more or less a one hit wonder in the US, but an incredible talent nonetheless. Fantastic voice.

He always insisted he wanted to be known as a 'blues man' rather than a 'rock star' and so refused to tour the US, which didn't help his career Stateside...
