Now that things are settled.

Braves will be without Sale for at least the Wild Card series.

I'll be curious about their travel arrangements. Did the second game end early enough to make it worthwhile to fly out to SD immediately or did they get a nights sleep at home and fly out today. You had mentioned it was undecided. I've got to think getting into SD last night made the most sense. They are going to be walking dead today.

CBS says the Braves flew out Monday night, so it was a pretty long day for them. I assume light drills today.

The Mets travel was worse. They had to fly in from Milwaukee Sunday. And then back there last night. The Barves were already at home. Their franchise are perpetual whiners. Already coming up with excuses for another playoff failure.

I bet on the Phillies to win the World Series a couple of months ago to jinx them. Unfortunately I think they will win the World Series

Padres > Braves
Brewers > Mets
Phillies > Brewers
Dodgers > Padres
Phillies > Dodgers

Astros > Tigers (although the Tigers lead the Astros 3-0 as I write this).
Orioles > Royals
Astros > Indians
Yankees > Orioles
Astros > Yankees

Phillies > Astros

In a perfect world I'd like to see the Tigers beat the Brewers in the World Series.

I've always liked the Tigers since the 1968 days of Horton, Kaline, Cash, Stanley, Freehan, McLain and Lolich.

They just made an interesting point on the O's game. They said this is the 6th year of the Orioles manager. They said the Orioles knew they were in a rebuild and stuck with their manager through it. Sounds familiar.

What an ending to the Tigers game. Houston was down 3-1 had the bases loaded with 2 outs in the bottom of the 9th. Jason Heward hits a screaming line drive right to the first baseman. Tigers win.

Made me think of the Nats wild card game in 2019. Ryan Zimmerman hits a broken bat bloop into center field to keep the inning alive that would eventually beat the Brewers.

Yep. Padres had the 15th overall payroll and were nipping at the heals of the Dodgers all season.

I hope Machado gets Pedroia'd

so many people do. Talked to an Os fan this weekend and he could stand Machado. Not in the way Nats fans get on Harper. More in the he's punk and dirty.

It's kind of wild that the Soto trades have managed to significantly benefit the Nats, Padres and Yankees.

What has Machado done lately to piss people off? Seem low key of late. BLOS fans should worry about their own choking team.

I was watching a late Padres game about a week ago. Machado got a strike call he didn't like. He kept shaking his head the next couple of pitches and when he struck out. He's still a jerk.

I like Machado, he might be an ahole sometimes, but he brings good energy to his ball club IMO.

That being said, I predict that the Guardians will win the WS this year. Anyone with me?  :mg:

It hasn't been nearly long enough since their last one.
