iirc, we lost Winker and Thomas this year stealing

Trea and Harper both had some injuries sliding into base.  Stealing is a big part of Trea's game, so no issues there.  But with guys like Harper and Ohtani, I would think you'd want to limit those close plays into second base the best you can.

Ohtani said in Japanese that he popped his shoulder out.

Sounds like he will play Monday. Dodgers are very lucky.

Funny thing is, I always thought foot first slides were safer than head first, but that's how Ohtani, Thomas, and some other guys were hurt this year.

Never heard of anyone separating a shoulder before on a foot first slide. Freak play.

I could have probably lived out the rest of my days just fine without experiencing "The Bronx Bomber" Fat Joe...

If the Fox strike zone box is to be believed, these umps have been considerably worse in ball/strike calls than 95% of games I've watched since they've had the box up full time.

Lane Thomas would have had that pop fly by Betts. Too bad the Yankees wanted Verdugo instead.

And Stanton is a lumbering slugger. Not someone to score from second on a single.

Looks like a Nats game with all the empty seats behind home plate.
