Is using Cortez really that different than the Nats using Corbin in 2019? They undoubtedly put him on the roster to face Ohtani and/or Freeman in such situations. Sometimes doesn’t work out. Game could have gone either way. Dodgers pen gave up a run also and could have been worse.
Corbin started clean innings

Ok. I didn’t know they had another lefty available so good point. But they activated Cortes so need to use him.

- Let Cortes start a clean inning, as mentioned above

- Find a right-hander to pitch to Betts. No need to pitch to Freddie.

- Give Cole another inning so the bullpen does not have to cover so many innings.

Freeman is so good
Always killed the Nats, but Freeman is one of the most likeable players in MLB.

Against 3 MPVs? That seems extreme

Well...beginning to l;ook like a Dodger series. Can't hit Yamamoto and the Dodgers seem to have a deep lineup.

If Stanton and Adam Dunn were his competition he might still lose. But they are paying him to hit. Which he does very well.

Yankees radio gives us a stat: Juan Soto has 11 post-season home runs, for both Washington and New York. Nine of the 11 have tied the game or given his team a lead.

(Also, Rodon gave up the second most home runs in baseball this year.)

Somehow, even Rodon can't be mad at Freeman after the dinger

Made me look that up. They forgot a team.
5 for the Nats
2 for the Padres
4 for the Yankees.

It is very impressive as he is playing in just his third postseason.

His bullpen is garbage. May as well keep Rodon in

Actually, it was me. I forget that Soto played for San Diego.

Awesome stuff from Tim Hill there\. Yankees are very lucky to have such a weapon chucking from the left side out of the pen for big outs like that.

Ohtani hurt and out of the game sliding into second. Looks like left hand, arm or shoulder.

The risk/reward of Ohtani stealing so much never made sense to me.
