Is using Cortez really that different than the Nats using Corbin in 2019? They undoubtedly put him on the roster to face Ohtani and/or Freeman in such situations. Sometimes doesn’t work out. Game could have gone either way. Dodgers pen gave up a run also and could have been worse.

Cortes hadn't pitched since September 18th. Corbin was pitching the whole season and postseason.

I don't blame Cortes. I think Boone is an idiot for putting a guy in that position when Tim Hill was available.

Ok. I didn’t know they had another lefty available so good point. But they activated Cortes so need to use him.
