Why does he wait for disaster to pull the pitcher?

Disgusting.

And Gallo?? Hitting .158? And .588 OPS? Put Baker at first.

How do you blow a 3 run lead against the Marlins?

Gallo is everything wrong with current home-run baseball.

Darren B. fields and he hits. He steals bases. He does not hit homers, but neither does Gallo, the strikeout king.

Same way you manage to only get 3 runs against a starter with a +7 ERA/FIP and an 89 mph fastball.

And that was (probably) our best chance in the series, in terms of opposition pitching. So the reverse sweep is on!...  ;)

Interesting line, from the Marlins booth-crew, about Xavier Edwards - 'he's the straw that stirs the drink for the Marlins...' 0...K.... ;)

17 outs in a row after grabbing the 3-0 lead. Still could have won but for the 8th. I'm a Law fan, and he only threw 1 pitch in the 7th, so I'm not going to second guess too much him starting the 8th. Wasn't smacked around too much. Maybe a rangier or better positioned SS makes a play on the first little "liner" through the 3B/SS hole, but I'm not going to be too hard on anyone. Then to see a bunch of bullets of Nats bats get caught, and the last call on Gallo for strike 3, just incredibly frustrating.

He's not quite a Manny Acta or Jim Riggleman, but he's getting there.

I thought the one mistake Davey made was bringing Law out for the 8th. I was surprised when he did. I though Ferrer should of pitched the 8th.

Well the other mistake was playing Gallo. At this point I don't see any benefit in that.

I could get continuing to play somebody with veteran experience and great fundamental skills who was also really tearing it up and helping show younger players how to win. How this is explainable or justifiable eludes me. Would he really be shocked that he would be benched given the way that he is performing?
