CJ Abrams with the lead off homer as he remembers contract season nears.

Crap. I thought I was going to be hammered for the above post but this looks like a typical Corbin POS game.

So much for Davey needing Corbin to go deep to save his bullpen. The relief pitchers should beat the crap out of Corbin. I’m going to take a cruise in my Cobra

(Hats off to the fine people who have been start GDTs this season. I could not find a source that let me copy-all the starting lineups. Do you kind people do them player by player?)

And 100 years ago, the Athletics welcomed the Griffs to Shibe Park, where Walter Johnson started. If only Corbin could pitch like The Big Train, or like Babe Ruth, who came up as "The young, left-handed, Walter Johnson"

Why is Joey Gallo starting? Because he hits left-handed?

Does "handed-ness" matter if Gallo is hitting .164? And now less, as he strikes out.

Tena's defense is untenable.

Instead of getting the out, Garcia threw home and gave up a run? Was that good?

Dan notes that Jones was Pittsburgh's second round pick in 2020. Who did the Nats draft?

At this point, I wish the Nats had kept MAT in CF while trading Robles when another team might give something for him. Even this year, MAT could have played all three OF positions and hit with as much power as Gallo.

Small victories: Bryzkcy and Salazar each pitched an inning without giving up a run.
