Vandy Alabama is maybe a little less impressive now than at the time.

Fingers crossed Navy and Army are undefeated going into the Army Navy game. The winner would have to get the G5 spot in the playoffs

Well that didn't work out.  Was still fun last week to see Army, Navy and Vandy as the bottom of the top 25.

Hokies sit alone in 5th place in the ACC at 3-1.  Four unbeaten teams above them.  If only that call against Miami had not been reversed.  They would be sitting at 4-0 and half game behind Clemson.  Looks like another bowl season anyway.  Pry maybe looks like someone to keep.

Army and Navy could still finish first and second in their conference, which would mean they’d meet in the conference championship game the first weekend of December at either West Point or Annapolis and then play the regular Army–Navy game at FedEx the following weekend.

Then they need to meet in a bowl game to complete the set...

Obviously has to be the Military Bowl (which is a real bowl game played in Annapolis).

The Carrier dome or whatever it’s called now continues to be a house of horrors for the Hokies. Amazing how they lose every close game.

And speaking of anti clutch there is Penn State and James Franklin.

Ohio state doing their best to get Indiana into the playoffs. Michigan better to play them again than an SEC team that has a shot to beat you

Columbia wins a share of the Ivy title for only the 2d time, first since 1961. 3 way tie with Harvard and Dartmouth after Yale beats Harvard.

Feinstein’s new book may be a good read for you. I think the prologue is about how Strasburg should have pitched 2012 playoffs.  :hysterical:

Watched Richmond destroy William and Mary today. The Spiders finish 8-0 in the CAA and are likely to host at least one playoff game.

I saw someone this morning say the Ohio State loss was not as lopsided as it seemed because two of the touchdowns were special teams. Nice to know special teams don’t count. That’s actually where the depth or talent shows. What a stupid comment.

I’m ok with Indiana in versus a 3 loss SEC team. Serves the league right. If you invite good programs it’s going to result in teams with more losses. Just logical.

In any event after the first couple round you will be down to a good representive group of 4.

Go Georgia (Eagles South).

Seems like the W&M football program has gone downhill. A shame. And basketball seems no hope of making its first NCAA. The oldest grandson says he wants to go there like his Mom.

They've had a decent last few years that included a deep playoff run in 2022 (with Cam Newton on the sidelines for most games and Cam's brother playing WR). They lost their top defensive player (John Pius) after last season. Their top 3 offensive players, including Bronson Yoder, who is a beast, are all graduating after this season so next year will be quite diferent. Remember though, W&M is known more for producing coaches than players. :)

Basketball has always been awful, they are among four teams (along with Army, Citadel, and St. Francis in NY) who have never made the NCAA tournament since it started in 1939 but who have been eligible every year.

Still, it's a fantastic school. I have one son who graduated from there and one who will graduate in May. And my wife went there as well.

Rutgers' HC calls a timeout to ice the Illinois kicker before a 58 yard FG attempt that would have won the game (Rutgers led 31-30). After the time out, the Illinois HC changed his mind and decided to run a play, a pass across the middle that resulted in a game winning TD.

The SEC is garbage.  The Big 12 teams came in right away and dominated

Not sure what you mean. Texas is first place but Oklahoma is near the bottom. Texas A&M has been in the league for years with mixed results.  It’s stronger top to bottom from the other conferences so that’s why more upsets this year.

Oklahoma ran Alabama off the field.   Their most lopsided loss in 20 years

Sure but Oklahoma is not dominating the SEC. They’re 2-5 in the conference. Notre Dame lost to Northern Illinois. And will still be in the playoff. One game does not mean everything.
